I was born and raised in Ohio, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when I graduated from university, and worked in Silicon Valley until it imploded in 2002. After 11 years as an expat in Barcelona, I moved back to California in 2013 to see if Silicon Valley would implode again. The jury is still out.

This site languished for the better part of a decade, replaced by social media and preempted by work, raising two daughters, travel, a global pandemic, and the occasional insurrection. All the old posts are still here, including long, rambling introspection and more obscure 80’s pop culture references than you can shake a stick at. As of late 2024 the social media landscape is shifting, though, along with most of American society, so it seems like it might be a good idea to have a place of my own to ramble on.
